Beet Curly Top Virus (BCTV) primarily infects dicotyledonous plants and is restricted to the phloem of its host. The virus is naturally transmitted by leafhoppers in a persistent manner. BCTV particles have a geminate structure, with each particle measuring 18nm × 30nm and lacking an envelope. The virus is composed of two incomplete icosahedrons. Its genome consists of a single-stranded circular DNA molecule of 2.9-3.0 kb, encoding seven genes—three on the viral strand and four on the complementary strand.

Product Details FAQ Specification Instructions

BCTV can infect over 300 plant species across more than 44 families of dicotyledonous plants, leading to significant yield reductions or even total crop failure, which causes substantial agricultural losses. The virus spreads among hosts primarily through leafhoppers. This detection kit is designed for the qualitative detection of BCTV nucleic acids in dicotyledonous plant tissues. A non-competitive internal control is included to monitor the sample collection, nucleic acid extraction, and PCR detection processes, ensuring the validity of the test results.

Short Detection Time: The test can be completed within 45 minutes.

No Risk of Contamination: The entire process is conducted in a closed-tube system, eliminating the risk of contamination.

High Specificity: Accurately detects BCTV with no cross-reaction with other pathogens.

Internal Control Included: Incorporates an internal control to monitor the entire extraction and detection process, ensuring reliability and quality of the results.
